Living in the city without a car makes being in one a fairly rare experience. Going somewhere usually gets me excited about what I see, and even the mundane things that pass by on the way to wherever "there" is seem fresh, interesting, fuel for ideas. It reminds me of the well-worn adage, "It's not where you're going, it's how you get there," and that the journey is arguably more important than the destination.
